Photographs: The Morpheus Series
In my Surrealist photographic series called Morpheus I use incidental photographs that I have accumulated over the years and images that I manipulate in the computer as part of a final collage. These are spontaneous works that utilize image overlays that I match up with what I call “memories of place.” These memory photos are often the mistakes or random captures in my camera.
Largely autobiographical in nature I delve into concepts such as; being, identity, communication and also femininity. Through the juxtaposition and spontaneous compositions these memories of place create an abstract tableau. The reality is often ambiguous and whimsical yet thought provoking. I am creating surrealistic atmospheres about the human existence.
